One canvas size, two price points.
GPT-5 Image and GPT Image Mini both render at a single size tier. OpenAI’s image API accepts only a fixed set of canvases, so the studio does not offer size tiers that would change neither the image nor the price.
Mini is the cheaper of the two. Both are billed on the actual output, and both draw from the same prepaid dollar balance — there is no separate OpenAI subscription in the way.
